Health and Safety Committees (HSC) and Health and Safety Representative (HSR): Foundations course meets the minimum mandatory training requirements that all HSC members and HSRs must receive. In addition to this minimum training, this course also introduces the employer’s obligations for establishing and supporting the HSC or HSR. The legislation governing HSCs and HSRs has changed substantially with the OH&S Act, Regulations and Code changes coming into effect December 1, 2021. This revised course includes fully updated content to reflect new legislation and meet the mandatory minimum training requirements and has a run-time of 6 hours. This course contains 6 technical hours. This course may be eligible for 0.3 CEUs for the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) – Continuing Professional Development Program (CPD Program) for the purpose of recertification in maintaining the BCRSP certification. See the BCRSP website at www.bcrsp.ca for CPD points criteria. This is a course requirement for AMHSA's: Municipal Health and Safety Committee Representative certification, Municipal Supervisor in Health and Safety certification, and Recognized Municipal Health and Safety Advisor certification. This is an optional course in AMHSA’s Municipal Manager in Health and Safety certification.
